TEXT TYPES

I work with authors across a wide range of disciplines and interdisciplinary fields in the humanities and social sciences and in a variety of writing projects, such as book proposals and book manuscripts, articles for peer-review publications, research proposals, course syllabi, and book indexing, among others.

LINES OF EDITING

After a free initial meeting to discuss your writing project and objectives, I will review your written materials and design a working plan proposal tailored to the needs of your project. These are some of the services I provide:

  • Substantive editing: Attends to the macro-structure of the text, reorganizes content, and clarifies the logical connection between ideas.
  • Stylistic Editing: Clarifies meaning at the sentence-level, refines word choice, and enhances sentence flow and rhythm.
  • Copy-editing: Focuses on the mechanics of writing (e.g. syntax, punctuation, spelling, etc.)
  • Proofreading: Reviews the material after layout to fix errors, omissions, or inconsistencies in textual and/or visual elements.
