“Don’t be ‘a writer.’ Be writing.”
― William Faulkner
I have often been puzzled by how little time and space is devoted in our academic training to reflect on writing as a practice in its own right. This gives us little opportunity to develop our writing style, build on strengths, and use the composition process as a tool of discovery. My writing mentorship practice is designed to provide academic authors with a space to think about, on, and through writing, in the present progressive of its unfolding.
As a writing mentor, I offer the following services:
- Review of your written materials and in-depth feedback on your writing strengths and challenges.
- One-on-one practice sessions on specific writing skills (sentence level writing, logical flow, style, syntactical patterns, voice, etc.)
- Real-time editing.
- Time management and project organization.
- Support with writer’s block.
